| Ice Harbor Dam, Walla Walla County,
Washington click here for Google Map Coordinates: 46.245757,-118.878422 Ice Harbor Dam is 5.5 miles east of Burbank on Highway 124. Drive the dirt road above and below the dam. Gulls, ducks, pelicans, and other water birds gather around the island below the Dam. Visit the Visitor Center to see the fish viewing room, fish passages, and learn of early inhabitants of the region. You may also watch barge traffic navigate through the 100 ft. tall locks. Charbonneau Park, Walla Walla County, Washington click here for Google Map Coordinates: 46.254066,-118.846321 Charbonneau Park is on Lake Sacajawea, three miles above Ice Harbor Dam. This campground, rivershore park is popular with campers, boaters, hunters and fishermen. Best birding is in winter; bird the trees for migrants and overwintering birds. Park, administered by the Corps of Engineers, is 10.5 miles east of
Pasco on the Pasco/Kahlotus Road. Located on Lake Sacajawea
(which was formed by Ice Harbor Dam), Levey is one of several Parks
along the river. Check for migrants and water birds. Franklin County, Washington click here for Google Map Coordinates: 46.294670, -118.806660 Big Flat, a Corps of Engineers HMU, is located just east of Levey Park. Park and walk the trails. In winter, look for owls, winter sparrows and shrikes. Big Flat HMU is a large area where trees, undergrowth, and plantings support a large variety of birds in winter. Sparrows are abundant with Harris' and White-throated on occasion. If plants have a good crop of fruit, look for both waxwings, Varied and Hermit Thrushes. park has trees as well as riparian areas to search for migrants. Great
areas to bird on the way in and out also. In 2007 a Black-and-white
Warbler was seen here. Late

Falls is most well known for the spectacular natural water
feature. However, walking way out on the peninsula provides some
interesting habitat for birders. A migrant trap, this park also offers great scenery. Peregrine Falcons are often seen. See

bring many surprises. Although Lyon's Ferry is closed in winter, one
